Planes, Trains and Automobiles!
When I first peeked at this weeks theme I was stuck. I had no clue what to do and then in the middle of the night last week it struck me we have an airport in town! How perfect is that! So I decided we would stick to just planes.
When I first peeked at this weeks theme I was stuck. I had no clue what to do and then in the middle of the night last week it struck me we have an airport in town! How perfect is that! So I decided we would stick to just planes.
The plan was to go to the airport this morning and watch the airplanes take off and land BUT the weather is just too beautiful to hang out at the airport. Instead we ended up at the beach this morning BUT the airport just happens to be right across the way from the beach. Maddie was able to splash in the water AND watch the airplanes land and takeoff!
Instead of trying to figure how to make an airplane in a muffin tin I opted for a different angle. I recently dug through the cabinets in hopes of finding a great portable container for meals in the car and low and behold I found this beauty! As an extra bonus my square silicone muffin tins fit perfectly in it!I printed out a few little custom labels (I ♥ clip art!) to turn my portable muffin tin into a laptop airplane meal!
Top: Mini cheddar rice cakes, strawberries, tomatoes, mini bunny cookies
Bottom: Blueberries, pepperoni and cheese, mixed melons, cashews
Maddie INHALED her lunch! All that was left were a few cashews!
Lunch led to nap, yippee! Before nap time though we read one of our favorite airplane books: Planes At The Airport by Peter Mandel

what a fantastic way to make the theme work for you! SO original and healthy too!
Very cute!
Darling. And I love that you had a book that fit the theme! I think I'll copy you : )
The beach is way more fun than the airport:-)! I absolutely LOVE this idea and those adorable square liners!!
Awesome!! We also love the book about going on a trip from the Usborne First Experiences book. The lunch is adorable -- I WISH lunch was that yummy on a real plane : ) I see some match box cars in your future this week... perhaps painting with toy cars rolled in paint then across the paper! : )
You are brilliant! What a lucky girl to have a super creative mommy.
