Thanks to Team Mom and the wonderful people at Mega Bloks today I get to show you the adorable new Mega Bloks Dora's Garden Gazebo buildable playset. Mega Bloks has developed a new line of Dora The Explorer sets that are just adorable! So bright and colorful and definitely kiddo friendly. They are geared toward little girls aged 3 and up but at almost 5 Maddie has been playing with the new set for the past week and incorporated a variety of her other toys and blocks with the set. Ahh little imaginations!

The Garden Gazebo playset only contains 19 pieces but it is meant to build on to other playsets like the Flower Garden.  The set includes 2 interchangeable skirts for Dora to wear- and if you have a little girl you know the number one thing my daughter did was change her skirt a bazillion times. Why is that such a fun thing? 

Dora also has her own gardening accessories like a little watering can, sunflower, patio umbrella and baby blue bird. Maddie has enjoyed staging different scenes and watering the sunflower just like she is in her real garden outside.

Maddie is opinionated.

I think that's a pretty common description for every 4 year old though and not just mine. Food tends to be a bit of a battle at times in our house. According to Maddie she likes what she likes and that's what she likes. Most of the time her quirks aren't a big deal. Some days she wants to eat a pint of grape tomatoes for lunch. Whatever, it could be worse. Then we go grocery shopping and the barrage of I WANT starts. Ugh. I know I am not the only mom that hates that. Yes Maddie I know you want those fruits snacks filled with sugar and ingredients I can't pronounce but it's not going to happen. Cue the whining. Blah. Well let me tell you I heard birds singing and babies cooing when Maddie threw Buddy Fruits in the grocery cart last week.

Of course it was time to turn the package over and see what Buddy Fruits really were. OMG. Fruit. That's right 100% fruit. Nothing else. Who knew such things existed. Buddy Fruits come in two forms either Pure Fruit Bites or Pure Blended Fruit To Go. Let me tell you I am in love. During that before mentioned shopping trip I allowed Maddie to pick out one of the blended fruits to enjoy while I shopped in peace. She opted for the Apple & Banana one and I am pleased to report the ingredients are: Apple, banana, concentrated apple juice and lemon juice. I kid you not that is all there is but they are super cool to my 4 year old because they come in awesome squeezy pouches (ahem no mess, no spoon) and they have cute pictures of happy fruit on the front. Win.

As a mom I can say I truly love Buddy Fruits. They are great on the go snacks especially because both forms of Buddy Fruits come in resealable packages. The Pure Fruit Bites are even in BPA Free packaging. I will admit they are a bit pricey (my store has them for 89 cents a piece) but I suggest looking out for sales and even if you only purchase a few just to keep in your My Child Is Driving Me Insane I Need Something To Make It Stop Stash they are totally worth it! Hubby has even enjoyed taking Buddy Fruits to work for a quick on the go snack. Maddie likes that the Pure Fruit Bites even have cute little facts like that the Raspberry bites are made using 16 raspberries and 7 slices of apple. It may not make up for the lack of character shapes but she thinks it's pretty cool!

Ahh it's Monday again and that means Muffin Tin Monday... well at least it does today. I am so inconsistent these days, oh well. Lucky for me there is no theme this week so I was able to throw together a quick little lunch for Maddie.

On the menu for today: Apple slices with caramel, pretzel goldfish, celery with a Greek yogurt dip and a Pillsbury Mini Biscuit with peanut butter and jelly. 

A simple lunch full of Maddie's favorites which means she will inhale it and then NAP TIME! La, la, la .... I may be doing a happy dance for nap time today!

As a family of 3 a regular can of biscuits isn't exactly the best for us so I have been buying the frozen bags for quite a while. I love that I can take out exactly how many I need and not worry about leftovers.... or evening snacking...

My personal favorite combos?

*A slice of deli ham, a wedge of Granny Smith apple and a slice of sharp cheddar cheese

* Of course pb&j is a favorite too! 

* Or peanut butter with banana slices

* A sausage patty with some apple butter sounds fantastic too!

If I am serving biscuits with dinner I sometimes like to sprinkle the tops with garlic powder or even melt a little cheddar cheese and top them with fresh chopped parsley.

A few Favorite Friday's ago I posted about the Rumba watch I found in a recent issue of Real Simple magazine. I was so excited about the watches I sent a quick e-mail to the company letting them know I was featuring them and within hours I was organizing a giveaway for all of my lovely readers!

Rumba watches are digital silicone watches that have a nice thin band and weigh only 10 grams. Hubby ordered one for himself (Only $20!) and said he barely even notices it is on his wrist. The watches are water resistant to 30 meters making them perfect for the beach too! They come in a ton of different colors, although I am still partial to the purple haze one! I have a feeling I will be ordering a few different colors though! Rumba watches are perfect for kiddos too! Madison has been sporting a glitter one lately and loves it!

Another Giveaway

Adorableness to Win!

Oh my! I found another post linking to Lassie Girl's free Independence Day Pinafore post and I fell in love! I had no idea that's what that style top was even called, go figure! My little brother bought a Minnie Mouse one for Maddie's first birthday and I was so sad when I finally had to let go of it! She ended up wearing it for two years, by the time she was too tall to wear it for a dress she wore it over a pair of jeans. Even if I don't win I am sure I will be purchasing one from Lassie Girl's store within the next month for Maddie's birthday party!

I LOVE Mason jars and am always finding new ways to use them!

Today she is hosting a giveaway for a $25 gift certificate to A Window into Whimsy! I am so in love with the Tri-fold wallets and have already added one to my Amazon.com wish list! Yippee! Since I am desperately lacking in the sewing/stiching/crocheting/knitting department I will have to get my fix on Etsy! mmmmm....coffee....

I was never much of a coffee drinker until I moved to Washington four years ago. I knew before moving that it was the birthplace of Starbucks (even if you don't like it please don't talk down my love affair with white chocolate mocha's!) but I didn't realize that every street corner had a coffee shop! I kid you not, there was a Starbucks in my grocery store, then there was another full shop next to my grocery store and then there was a drive up coffee booth in the grocery store parking lot!

It apparently is predetermined for you that you will drink coffee if you live in Washington.

Then I had Maddie and now I need coffee to make it through the day. Sad I know. I am sticking to my thoughts that she grabbed the last of my youth as she was being born because I no longer have the energy she does. The thought is a bit depressing since I haven't even hit my 25th birthday yet!

This morning I stumbled upon Get The Bean (visit now for a free giveaway!) and I have been salivating at the kitchen table since. Their list of flavored coffees (I can't drink unflavored coffee, I guess I am still a coffee learner) is amazing!
