Lazy Man's Lasagna

My husband would eat lasagna every day of his life if I allowed it - or so he says. Alas lasagna is not a quick throw together meal so he only enjoys it once a month - yes I am a horrible wife. INSTEAD his second favorite is Baked Raviolis or Lazy Man's Lasagna!

-1 lb ground beef or like at our house ground turkey
- 1 24 oz jar tomato sauce*
- 1/4 onion diced
- 1 24 oz bag of your favorite frozen cheese raviolis
- CHEESE

*Yes I said jarred sauce. I am sure half of you are rolling your eyes and saying "no way! not in my house!" but I am in love with Classico's Marinara with Plum Tomatoes and Olive Oil. I keep mass quantities of it in the house and use it for EVERYTHING. It is a very basic sauce that is easily gussied up! That being said yes I do know how to make real tomato sauce and I even do sometimes!

So let's begin! Pour about a quarter cup of sauce onto the bottom of your baking dish to keep the raviolis from sticking. Next up boil your water for the raviolis and begin browning your ground beef/turkey with the onions.

After the beef/turkey is nicely browned add the rest of the jarred sauce. Boil the raviolis as directed on the package.

Drain your raviolis and lay them into the baking dish. Top with your meat sauce.

Next up is the cheese- I like to lay a few slices of provolone and then fill in the cracks with mozzarella and top it all off with some fresh parm. To each his own, top with whatever you like!

To the oven it goes! I bake at 350-375F (basically whatever temp I need to bake my garlic bread at!) for about 20 minutes or so. Basically until the cheese is browned and bubbly.

Simple & Delish!

The cheese filled raviolis give you the layers you would normally have in lasagna and instead of 2 hours of prep and baking dinner only took 30 minutes!

Mmmm! Mike LOVES lasagna too, but I don't even make it once a month (I HATE making it, for whatever reason). We will DEFINITELY have to be trying this one. I think he'd love it. Thank you!

I love finding new recipes and this looks like a great one to try.

This sounds like a great compromise recipe! Since I'm the one in the house who loves lasagna the most, I don't make it very often either. This is a much easier way to get a similar meal. Thanks!
