Tiny Dancer

I have been admiring from afar the BEAUTIFUL applique creations at Chasing Cheerios. I do not sew at all, I suppose I can stitch a bit but I most definitely do not sew. So every time a new applique project pops up on Chasing Cheerios I think "Wow, I can do that!" well her last project got my wheels turning.

During our many errands yesterday I picked up a few small pieces of fabric, some Heat'n Bond iron-on adhesive and a cute canvas bag. I whipped together the bag in less than an hour last night and I am really happy with the results! I am already planning a small tote for when we go out to eat with 'YUM' and a fork underneath it!

I have plenty of fabric and adhesive leftover so I am sure there will be a few more projects popping up. I guess I got the applique bug!

Now that Mad has a cute little bag to hold her new tap shoes I suppose the only other thing we have to do is head over and sign our tiny little dancer up for classes this morning!

My baby is growing up!

Awwww... what a cute dance bag! I've never tried the iron on adhesive, but it looks like it worked really well... great idea!!

Sooooooo cute!! I, too, keep seeing all the darling things she's creating and loving it but I'm afraid of ruining anything I make! But, that's such a cute idea to make a dance bag, and especially since I signed Maddie up for dance in September. It really was easy??

I too have seen her creations and thought, "hey, I could do that!" I don't have a sewing machine so the applique technique would be perfect for me to try. I want to sign my daughter up for a dance class so if I find one I will be making one of these as well!

Just wanted to stop by again and let you know that I'm thinking of starting a free online sewing workshop, if there is enough interest. I would love to have you join us!

A Special Gift for Baby

So much fun!!

Wow, good for you! I've been drooling over Melissa's projects @ Chasing Cheerios too but I've always been afraid to try and lacking the financial means at the time that I do want to try it. Your bag turned out so cute! WTG!
