Bug Catcher Necklace- Redo

Who doesn't love Whimsy Love? Goodness, her blog is so creative and full of pop color creativity life! For my mom's birthday I used the Whimsy Love cupcake planter tutorial and it was a huge hit! Well she is at it again with her too cute for words bug catcher necklaces.

We spent all day last Saturday crafting at the kitchen table as a family and it was great! Daddy is a pro with the hot glue gun! Daddy set to work making Mad a crown and wand that actually fits her head while Mad and I worked on the bug catcher necklaces. I love the look and idea of the bug catchers but not so much the bug part. The thought of Maddie carrying around creepy crawlies around her neck grosses me out so we I opted to switch things up a bit. Instead of bugs our necklaces has a capsule of fairy dust!

I love using a muffin tin to hold all of our crafty bits!

Not only did daddy join us at craft time but it was his idea!

Beads, beads, beads! What a great fine motor skill!

Such a perfectionist!

Yeah! A crown that fits! Hubby added fish tank tubing all along the edges the next day so it wasn't so itchy, what a genius my hubby is!

I had to raid Mad's piggy bank for quarters just to get the gumball machine containers!

One Saturday afternoon. One glue gun. Two packs of silver pipe cleaners. Three bags of pretty beads. One happy Maddie!

Turned out soooo cute! Hey, I just started a new Flickr group for my awesome blog readers who create something nifty from the tutes on my blog. I'd love it if you put your bug catcher pics there---or any other crafty WhiMSy love tutorial pics you have! Thanks!

I love that Mad's dad took part in the craftiness! That totally rocks.
