Oh my....

It was one of those moments this morning.....

A few weeks ago I was approached at church about the possibility of Maddie being in the Easter pageant and I though "Sure! Why not?"

Last Sunday Maddie had her one and only practice with the rest of the children's choir. There really isn't a whole lot involved in our church's Easter pageant other than the kids singing two songs. Practice went pretty well considering Maddie sang Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and the ABC song instead of the songs she was supposed to sing.

So all this past week we practiced and practiced the real songs and Maddie was SUPER excited, especially because her Poppy was coming to see her 'performance'. Then came the big day....

All went well this morning she was very excited to show off her costume and was so happy Nanny and Poppy were there to see her sing.

Horrible picture I know! I forgot my super awesome camera at home (oops!) so I had to use my cellphone.

One problem, I told spaced (this has been mentioned this before!) that it was also Palm Sunday and the kids would be walking down the isle with palms and then they were supposed to lay them on the alter and then leave them alone! Well Maddie is 2 1/2 so that obviously did not happen as it was supposed to.

She did walk down the isle nicely and layed down her palm but then she got bored and started swatting and poking at the poor little kid next too her with a palm! Oh my..... I was sitting there trying not to die of laughter....or tears as my darling little girl continued to poke the other children as they so desperately tried to sing. Of course the palm she was using was taken away from her, but 2 year olds are very crafty and she managed to find another...and another...and another....

By the end (mind you this was only like 10 minutes long!) the choir director had to sit next to Maddie and sing with her so she would stop hitting the kids.

All the kids nicely file out of the sanctuary and I don't know if I want to follow them out and claim her as my child or not! ha ha!

It really was one of those days. My mom and step-father (Nanny and Poppy) were both looking at my with wide eyes like "that couldn't possibly be our little angel!" I just shook my head and went upstairs to congratulate my darling on her beautiful singing voice.

This is what happens when your daughter and husband battle with Jedi swords at the toy store....

that is so funny an sounds ljust like a two year old:-) Our church did a palm sunday parade with palms and one of the members rode on a paper donkey- a cut out he carried , it was very cute . My two year old has been known to walk down the aisle of church during the middle of service- he is suppose to be in nursery but somehow alwyas figures out how to get out-. Just gotta smile.

Keep on complimenting her on that beautiful singing voice! Positive affirmation! I've too often made the mistake of telling them what they shouldn't have done. :(

That's so funny! I love watching the little ones during the programs at church, because you just NEVER know what they will do! Usually they are more entertaining than the program! ;)
