Clothes pin Butterfly Magnet

I happened to have a clothes pin laying around (which I have no idea where it came from!) and thought we could make a really cute butterfly magnet with it. This is what we came up with.

Materials: coffee filter, clothes pin, pipe cleaner, beads, glue, magnet, paint/crayons/markers

First Maddie took care of painting the coffee filter with her dotters.

While the coffee filter dried we assembled the body for the butterfly. I put on bead in the middle of the pipe cleaner and then folded the ends together so we could slip the beads on without them falling off the end.

The rest of the assembly was my job. I glued the bead body onto one side of the clothespin. Because I wanted the clothes pin functional I glued the wings (coffee filter) onto the other side rather than just clipping them on to the body. After all the glue dried I attached a magnet strip to the back of the wings.
