Despite my non-breakfast loving family we still like to have a little something special on the weekends and one of our favorites are Maple Cream Cheese Crescents. The recipe is my play off of a KraftFoods.com recipe that I stumbled upon a long time ago. These are fantastic on a Saturday morning served with a bowl of fruit salad!
Maple Cream Cheese Crescents Cream Cheese
6 oz cream cheese
2 Tbs maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla
2 Tbs powdered sugar
Dash ground cinnamon
1 pkg. (8 oz.) refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
2 Tbs powdered sugar
Dash ground cinnamon
1 pkg. (8 oz.) refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
Preheat oven to 375F.
*Generally I don't have the time to soften cream cheese first thing in the morning so I whip everything together either with the stand mixer or a hand mixer.
Mix together cream cheese, maple syrup, vanilla, powdered sugar and cinnamon. Taste test your cream mixture now and decide if you want to add another tablespoon of powdered sugar ~ sometimes I do, sometimes I don't!
Unroll crescent rolls and separate into 8 triangles. Heap about a tablespoon or two of cream filling into each triangle. Roll up each triangle and arrange on an ungreased baking sheet.
*I usually go for more is better when filling my triangles. It's okay if some of the cream shows, it won't melt all over the baking sheet.
Bake for 12 to 14 minutes or until golden brown.

I think these are just as delicious at room temperature as they are fresh out of the oven! Enjoy!
