Tutu-errific!

A few weeks ago Madison's dance teacher mentioned that she was making all of the little girls tutus for their winter performance and said that they were 'super easy!' so I figured sure why not? I asked Madison what color she wanted for her new tutu ~ pink, purple....blue, green, yellow, orange, black, brown, red.

Sure kid. So we headed to the craft store and picked up every color tulle that they did have for Madison's rainbow tutu. The most aggravating part was cutting all of the tulle into strips but besides that it was actually very 'super easy!'.

Initially I stretched the elastic over a chair and that was such a BAD idea so I redid it and only stretched over my thigh, MUCH BETTER.

Madison loves her new tutu and I am thrilled that I made it all by myself!

That is super cute! R would love it. You just knot it around the elastic?

Awesome!!! I used to sell them in my Etsy shop (but stopped because I HATED cutting the tulle! Lol). If she says that it's scratchy or itchy, you can thread some ribbon in and out around the elastic and it makes it nice and smooth along their waists (it's the only way Maddie will wear it). And, the big bow you can make at the back is cute, too. :)

You did an awesome job! They make good bday presents, too!

I saw the same idea in Family Fun magazine. They suggested buying your tulle precut in the wedding section, but I'm sure there isn't as many cool colors.
