Halloween Countdown

Madison's Halloween costume arrived in the mail this week! We ordered the Belle princess dress and the Snow White princess dress from The Little Dress Up Shop and they are beautiful! We are saving the Snow White costume for Christmas but Madison was allowed to try on the Belle dress because that will be her Halloween costume this year.

Maybe that was a bit of a mistake though! Madison can't wait for Halloween now! She asks me every morning if it is Halloween yet because she wants to be a princess. To help Madison understand how long it is until Halloween we made a countdown spider this week.

Materials: two paper bowls, black paint, glue, googly eyes, black and purple construction paper, tape
Madison took care of all the painting while I cut enough black and purple paper strips for the rest of the month.

We made four paper chain spider legs leaving a little bit of a flap on 4 of the chains to attach to the inside of one of the paper bowls. After attaching all of the paper chains I glued the second bowl on top to finish the spider.

Madison added some giant googly eyes and we touched up the black paint around the rim.

Now our giant spider is hanging around the living room waiting for his legs to be pulled off! Every morning Madison rips of one of the paper chains knowing Halloween is that much closer!

*If you choose to hang up the spider I would suggest attaching the string to the top bowl before you glue the two bowls together.
