Muffin Tin Monday!

The weeks have been flying by lately and once again Monday is upon us so of course it is Muffin Tin Monday at our house. These weeks theme is Numbers! I have to tell you Mad drives me nuts when it comes to counting. If she really wants to she can but most of the time she drives us bananas by totally skipping numbers. At one point she was in a continual loop of 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3 and we had to prompt her with 4 before she would continue on. Now she counts 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. What? Where is 3, 4, 5? I had high hopes that today's theme would get her out of her current obsession with the number 6, no luck but it was still a fun day!

Months ago I picked up a package of scrap booking numbers on clearance for 10cents at AC Moore and was waiting for the perfect opportunity to use them. The stars lined up and I was able to plan a perfect project for today.

We used blue, yellow and orange paint on a teeny tiny paint roller to roll over the numbers that I used two sided tape to stick to some scrap paper.

After everything dried we peeled of the numbers and tape.

Voila! Now I have hopscotch on my pantry door. We will definitely be doing this technique again with some other cut-outs!

Today we ended up doing two muffin tin meals; lunch and snack.

For lunch we we did numbers 1 through 6 (6 muffin cups of course!).

Top: 1 watermelon slice, two peanut butter and jelly triangles, 3 multi grain crackers
Bottom: 4 tomato halves, 5 gummy fruit snacks, 6 string cheese chunks

Then for snack I let Mad pick out 6 different items and then we counted out 10 of each.
Top: 10 raisins, 10 bunny cookies, 10 mini marshmallows
Bottom: 10 gold fish crackers, 10 M&Ms, 10 mini pretzels

Now we are headed back outside to hang out in the sun for the afternoon, once again we have rain in the forecast for the rest of the week. :(

Oh how I wish I had the foresight that you seem to have when planning for Muffin Tin Mondays and all of the activities that you do! We end up just flying by the seat of our pants. I just love the numbers, those are way cool!

That is a great number activity. My daughter is the same way with counting. She gets past ten and can go to 15, then starts over at ten over and over and over again. Sometimes it's even just 1, 2, 3,....1, 2, 3,....over and over again.
