Boom! Bang! Crash!

We have started our 4th of July crafts a little early! The current issue of Parents Magazine features some very cool pipe cleaner fireworks and Maddie was eager to start crafting!

Materials: pipe cleaners, glue, glitter
Optional Materials: paper plate, ribbon, thread or fishing line

I love the easy-peasy crafts and this is most definitely one of them! All you do is cut a few pipe cleaners in half and the proceed to dip the end in glue and then glitter. Then twiddle your thumbs for a bit while they dry.... Next up we used one pipe cleaner to bundle up 4 others (so that's 5 pipe cleaner halves per firework) and then we bent up the ends as desired.
I will admit Maddie thought they were spiders!

We decided to turn our fireworks into a mobile so I cut out the center of a paper plate and let Maddie color it with her glitter dotters. I used a hole punch to cut holes for the ribbon to hang the whole thing on and then a few extra holes to tie on the fireworks.

BOOM! BANG! CRASH!

As an after thought...this is a great project for OUTSIDE! Then you won't be finding glitter all over your house for the next week, which unfortunately I will because I didn't think of that until we were done! Oops!
